Our company

Ekin Dekorasyon

Cüneyt Türkkan · Around 30 years in the trade

Ekin Dekorasyon works the way the craft taught it. For us this trade began with an apprenticeship.

Those years taught not only how a job is done, but how it can be done better. On every project we ask the same questions:

  • How can we do this better?
  • Is there a more suitable material?
  • How can we make this installation sturdier, neater or more practical?
To us, mastery does not mean knowing everything; it means continuing to learn something new every day.
Our team

The Team Behind Ekin Dekorasyon

Behind Ekin Dekorasyon is a team of brothers and colleagues from the same family who have worked together for years.

We try to carry the trust and the experience that come from doing the same work together over a long time into the jobs we take on today.

We do not hand our jobs on to another firm: every installation, from survey to handover, is carried out by our own team, without subcontractors.

Who we are

Ekin Dekorasyon, Since 2007

We work the way close to 30 years of craft taught us: sound materials, correct installation and a habit of improving how we work.

We follow what changes in our field and bring the new products and methods we find worthwhile into our projects.

Since 2007 we have carried out interior work for homes, villas, offices and commercial spaces in Istanbul with one team and one point of contact. At the survey we record measurements, installation details and site conditions.

The brand and model to be used are written into the quote, and in-scope workmanship carries a 1-year warranty.

The people we work with

The People We Work Alongside

Doing a job well is not only a matter of choosing the right material or planning it carefully.

Over the years, the relationships built on mutual trust — with the tradespeople, suppliers, product wholesalers and colleagues we work with — have become an important part of the work we deliver.

With some of them we have been on the same jobs for many years, knowing and trusting one another. We value the experience each of them brings, the effort they put in and the respect they hold for their own trade.

At Ekin Dekorasyon we know that behind the work we do today stands not only our own effort, but also the contribution of the people who have walked this road with us for years.

We thank everyone we work with for their effort and their trust.

How we work

The way we do the job

Our view of quality

We do not aim to offer the lowest price every time. What matters to us is work that is sound and long-lasting for the price agreed.

So the quote states what is included, which materials will be used and how the work will be handed over. Most unpleasant surprises come from details nobody discussed at the start.

What affects the price

  • Material quality
  • Standard of workmanship
  • Installation details
  • Durability
  • Choosing the right product
  • Doing the job properly

Our price is set not only by the work itself, but by the quality of the materials we use and the standard of our workmanship.

How we choose materials

Production methods have moved on, and there is now a product for every budget. Some profiles and building products used years ago had thicker gauge or simply more material in them. With intense price competition and cost pressure, the market today also offers many thinner, lighter and cheaper alternatives.

That does not make every thin product a bad one — technology has produced lighter products that perform well. But a product being cheap or light does not, on its own, make it the right product for the job.

When we pick gypsum boards, stone-wool ceiling panels, profiles, accessories and fixings, what matters is not the price tag but whether the product suits the work. The brand and model we choose are written into the quote.

What we weigh when choosing a product

  • Technical properties
  • Intended use
  • Durability
  • Site conditions
  • Performance
  • Relevant standards

A product being cheap or light does not on its own make it the right product for the job.

How cornice materials have changed

This is an observation from close to 30 years on site. Cornice casting once used natural plant fibres such as sisal. As costs, price pressure and competition increased, synthetic fibres and other cost-driven solutions gradually took their place.

Today EPS and XPS rigid-foam products are also widespread in cornice work because they are economical and quick to install. There is no single right product for every space; what matters is that the product suits where it is going.

We judge these products on fire behaviour, technical data, intended use and the relevant standards. Which product goes where is discussed at the survey and written into the quote.

We look not at a product's price or appearance alone, but at whether it genuinely suits the work to be done.

Our approach to what is new

We follow developments in our field closely. We research new products and use, and introduce to our clients, those we believe genuinely add something to a project.

We never use a product simply because it is new. We first assess its technical properties, where it is meant to be used and how it performs on site. Experience helps here: only years of work show how a detail behaves over time.

We keep our experience, follow the technology and bring the right innovations into our work.

Coordination on site

We do not look only at our own work. We take into account what the trades before us have done, the teams working alongside us and what the trades after us will need to do.

  • Keeping our sequence and details in step with the other trades
  • Not damaging plumbing, electrics or work already completed
  • Leaving no detail that makes the next trade's job harder

Good workmanship is not only doing your own job right; it is making sure that work fits correctly with everything else on site.
