Prefabricated elements

Panopan Applications

Panopan is not a product brand but the name of a fabrication method. Panopan is a method of producing finished profiles and box elements by CNC-cutting a V groove into a plasterboard sheet and folding it. Column casings, beam boxes, concealed light troughs and curved pieces are prepared to measure in advance instead of being cut and joined piece by piece on site.

Sharp corners, no visible joint

When a V-grooved sheet is folded the corner stays a single piece. There is no need to butt two boards together and tape the joint, so the corner line reads crisp and the risk of a joint crack appearing later drops.

Made to measure in the workshop

Elements are cut to the survey dimensions in the workshop. What happens on site reduces to fixing and filling — dust, offcuts and working hours all fall noticeably.

Board type follows the job

The same method works with standard, moisture-resistant and fire-rated board. The green pieces in these photographs are for wet rooms; the pink and red ones are for spaces carrying a fire requirement.

Integrated light trough

The channel the LED strip sits in is formed during production. Its dimensions follow the lighting design, and the inner face is finished matt white so the light spreads evenly.

Curved elements

Curves of a set radius are formed by kerfing the back of the sheet at intervals and bending it. The spacing follows the radius: closer kerfs give a tighter curve, wider spacing a gentler one.

Where it is used

Column and beam casings, sills, door and window surrounds, ceiling steps, concealed light troughs, niche edges and shopfront detailing.

Application photographs

All 35 photographs were taken in our own workshop and on our own sites: profile sections, light troughs, curved pieces, workshop preparation and finished installations.
